post Reebok Yummy Bunny Court Victory Easter Pumps

December 29th, 2007

Filed under: reebook, Idiocy, Kind of wack, Discount Heat — aj @ 7:14 pm

Yummy Bunny Court Victory — size 10 - If you are looking for the tip of the top in fruit pebble douche-baggery sneakers here you go. You’d probably want to offset these with a nice linen suit (in the summer), herringbone hat (all seasons) or a beltless executive trenchcoat in inclement weather. This way if you go the pharmacy, you’ll be treated with respect. Forget about walking into CHEERS though.

Used Supreme Dunk Highs (blue) — size 10.5 - These things are creased to shit and already over $100 with more than 4 days left. I would love to get a used pair that I can throw on to walk to the mart or mow the lawn, but can we plz get a used pair under a hundred? There’s a duality here: if shit’s under 100, then its basically free (basically), but spending over 55 bucks on ebay on shoes.. damn. I think I’ve done it twice? Dropping cash in person is nothing but like on the bay.. Kind of a mental commitment. Weird way to live…

Nike Kennedy — size 8 - This guy says that if you request he will clean these up to eBay standards. What a dick.

Whoops, no heat in this post. We taking the Sabbath off, doggee.

post Nike Hoya Terminators — size 14 1984

December 27th, 2007

Filed under: Idiocy, Black on Black, Discount Heat, Force, Nike — aj @ 9:20 pm

Nike Hoya Terminators — size 14 - Starting bid at 5K for a piece of history. Reasons you should buy this (now): besides general flyness, whoevers played bass for GBs rocked em in the NYC HC insert, the leather is denser, less puffy and better than the reissues, and it’s not a reissue. This was a shoe that 23 years ago you would only see on your TV thanksgiving weekend and some Saturday afternoons. And you wouldn’t even see it, only your son would if he stared really hard. Iller than any Dunk, one of the biggest drops from OG to retro, mainly because of the OG’s untouchability. Cop this and get Sheryl Swoopes pregnant then give it to your pride and joy for the diamond anny.

Nike Air Force V — size 10 - Buy it now at $275. One of the few high tops of this caliber to not get retro-ed yet. Although the shoe veers a little too much to air ultra flight/poor man style shoes for my taste. A very barren white shoe. Some more swoosh on this thing and they’d look like a basketball shoe, and not something the free newspaper guys wore in the rain. These are always on eBay, but I’m just saying. I don’t know in what universe these are worth $275 though.

The same seller has a Carolina blue pair up too, these are gonna go cheap, but no doubt will crumble right off your feet the first time you leave your hermitcally sealed anti-gravity chamber. You have to be at least 250 lb or positive to pull off this shoe.

Nike Carnivore — size 9.5
At any given time there is a pair of these on eBay. Would love to buy every pair as they come up all year and give everyone I know a pair for Christmas next year. Kind of an expensive gag, but funny to watch people try to figure out whether to hook the straps up OVER their jeans or under them, etc. (If you want a cheap version of this gag, you can buy everyone this). Of all the bad sneakers that exist in the world, this might be the one that tempts me the most often. Funny that the auction says they are “100% authentic” — I would really tip my hat to a bootlegger who was producing these guys.

What up dog. I didn’t want my comment being buried all the way down with those Escapes. If you’re talking about the highs, the black/red Air Force IIs are almost impossible to find. They were, as I’m sure you know released as a Eurocan back in 04, late 04 if I’m not mistaken. By that point I was away from both Euro and Can and missed out on the whole damn thing. I went up to Montreal and slept on em once, around three years ago, and then they where ghosts after that. I decided I needed them shits though. After about two years of searching on ebay.uk and the crooked tongues message board I found a pair (on ebay UK), mislisted, and copped it. But the bummer thing was that it was a US11, which are clown shoes since an AF2 is so large so I had to sell em. It broke my friggin heart. I’d also love a pair in a big way but I don’t even think they made em in half sizes.

I know my man Jay Bil has a few pairs, and Sweet Pete might have one, but I don’t know if that helps anyone. I’ll keep an eye out myself but I think your best bet is to do some Euro ebay snooping and fuck around on some foreign boards. The lows might be easier to find, they were a Eurocan from I believe mid 05. But I find this shit is the toughest to track down because it just slips through the radar. Hope this helps, and let me know how it goes. Merry xmas

post Nike Air Jordan VII Bordeaux, TERRA HUMARA ACGs and other XMAS treats

December 24th, 2007

Filed under: Reduced heat, Vintage, Jordan — sreiss @ 3:39 pm

Now… I don’t celebrate Christmas any more than I celebrate the CFL, but our sister site big hardcore.net is a big Xmas nut so I thought that I’d post some treats, auctions ending (gators in flavors, like) now and later that you can look at while I get some Chinese food, go see a movie alone and go to the casino (also hopefully alone). Merry bart the flexmas!!!!!!!!.

Up here is one of the better jordans to not get re-released. These are seven rings of hot fire. This particular pair is in really good condition and for the flyness of the shoe, and the condition, it is worth its price right now, although I don’t ever remember them going for 400 bucks. I don’t know if times have changed, and more people are into sneakers, inflating prices, or if a handful of fellows with great taste are bidding up this beautiful baby to rent money status. The shoe is definitely wearable - no cracking - and in showroom shape so you can do whatever you want with it, I won’t judge.

Some old deadstock Nike 1992 Air Spans just rolled up from a seller with a great name. I don’t know how I feel about 1992 era puffy white sole runners. I am sure that at this point in my life I am over the Air Max 1, but I don’t know if I have outsized hoodrack sized style to pull these things off without looking like I’m actively trying to vibe a museum. Or maybe I just dont like weird round soles unless theyre at the bottom of a 97. Regardless, this is one of the few shoes these days that is peeped by true heads… maybe Im saying something here.

Are you dreaming of a white Christmas? Because if you are, might help to get some shoes and put those KAWS x VANS on ice til mid February when the snow melts and invest in some boots, or, if you’re heatunit inclined, some ACGs. While nothing will ever be as indestructible as an Air Max 95 Z, the Terra Humara, a Philly favorite, comes close. I have worn mine two straight winters and they remain in showroom condition, unlike the jewels I copped that day in 04. dave luvs kicks has a couple (Humaras) here.. makes me question whether he really does. Humaras are a tricky thing because with the wrong colorways, any ACG-fence sitting they got completely goes out the window, and youre about a foot away from coochs (new) fav shoe - and if you’re not down with that, here’s a used one from England for all you skinheads - true ACGs of strength. But this seller, who has those old girls and I believe a camo one (not in my size), has the right idea for ACG shoes. Not too much brown, not too many m and m colors either, but somewheres in the middle. And I fucks with that, and hope you will too.

Finally, check out this blackhawks shirt. They kicked our ass on Saturday but I fucks with that, I got a Mitchell and Ness fitted and a friend in Chi town. Whatever, I’m an Islanders fan, just like my grandmaany ways, merry Christmas to all my non jewish friends (aka all of you, with like two exceptions. Sorry mom) and have a happy Boxing Day to all my jewish friends.

^^might be fake. whatever ho ho grave

post Fantastic Four Air Max 90s — size 12

December 22nd, 2007

Filed under: Air Max, Discount Heat — aj @ 12:55 am

User massmovement773 (not sure who it is, but suspect I probably know the dawg) is selling a bunch of used runners (peep his whole list here). No real super hot shit or anything, but stuff like Steve Nash 90s, a couple stabbs, etc.

The one thing that catches my eye though is those FF 90s. Always thought these looked dope when they came out. Should have grabbed a pair, but slept on ‘em, and my buddy repped em hard that whole summer and I didn’t want to bite his style. Surprisingly subtle at the time and stands up well a year and a half after dropping, something you can’t say for 95% of every half baked concept for a quickstrike that comes along.

They are used, the pictures are blurry, they look a litttle creased (only real bummer), and the auction ends on CHRISTMAS EVE. There isn’t a high demand for these shoes, you can probably pick them up for retail or just little over if you hunt around, so a used pair on the cheap might be a nice. Just sayin’.

post oh just a Nike Air Jordan White/White Low 1985

December 19th, 2007

Filed under: Bebworthy, call the doctor, azy, True Heat Unit, Discount Heat, Nike, Rare, Jordan — sreiss @ 11:32 pm

No big deal? Yeah you might have seen me on the streets, oh, never? Yeah hi my name’s Jeff and I’ll be doing your groceries for you and driving you to work and sitting on your lap and doing your job. After keeping me on staff for ten years you might be lucky enough to see a pair of Jordan 1 lows in white on the street. I don’t care, not even the Beastie Boys could make these shoes suck.

If I saw a pair of these on the street (say, on the US east coast) my stomach would be in my throat, and if someone reached over to me, with this box, and motioned for me to take it, my knees would buckle. And I’ve been wearing Wallies every day since July. But this is what this site is all about, reporting true motha fockin heat units. I would wear these in Ed Koch’s NY and fully expect my throat to be slit - EAR TO EAR - and on the table, I’d lay facing my inevitable and all too sullied eternal slumber, I would grin, looking down at my feet in white Jordans and black socks, dark purple blood on my shoes and a bunch of teeth on the ground, but both of them on, I can’t see my toes or feel my face. You could have corkscrew curls and look cool in these. Jordan 1s look cooler on your feet than ANY other shoe, rare or otherwise.

Honestly man.. I don’t know what I can say about this shoe besides:

1. Good luck finding it on this continent.
2. Good luck finding it not shelled by zhieep, total POS ruining jay bil’s good time. wah jaybil.
3. Good luck finding it period.
4. I don’t even understand. Take a look at the scheller’s (hi sheller) other stuff. Hi, i’m a bernie kosar shirt, you might remember me from your UPS’ guy’s college dorm (starting bid $20). Oh dont mind me, just an all over print wolverines shirt with a wolverine on it. No big deal. (Not to mention the other stuff he has, lightning jersey, stussy rasta letterman jacket - xxl, some old ass champion tees… I love America)

These days everyone’s a sneakerhead but the oldest heat you see is from March. Oh wow, this year’s Jordan Vs? So you’re telling me you have $120? Cool. Sweet. Rare airs, where you been? Everytime you think the last deadstock (this isn’t ds, but its close) pairs only belong to Marc Jacobs’ life coach and 3 dudes in Japan, you see a pair up on ebay, just hanging out waiting to be plucked in the American heartland. It’s already been a great week for
vintage
jordan ones, not the least of which i will be buried in. Like, damn. And whether your budget can cop any of these, it’s nice to (hopefully) know that these are going to real people somewhere (although I’ve been convinced that half of ebay are celebrity buyers for like, Stephen Dorff).

Wear in good health, always:

post Nike Air Max BW Euro 1992

December 17th, 2007

Filed under: Air Max, Reduced heat, Vintage, Nike — sreiss @ 2:48 pm

Here are a pair of OG Nike BWs, or classics. I’m not sure if they’re classics or BWs - I use a boolean search for both just to cover my bases, which is hard because it yields a lot of SBs. I am not sure if the box lists them as Air Max Classics or Air BW’s, but one is the other. The model was released in 1992, and purple/black, most famous colorway, is best remembered from a Boyz II Men photo shoot from that year.

This is one Nike that holds up well. For every wool dunk, multicolored Air Max 93 or Flight 89 with 360 Air there’s a subtler Nike that commands enduring appreciation*.

I picked up a pair of these in Brown, Black and Tan in 2002 at a duty free shop in Europe. I don’t know what happened to them, and if it was my preferred size I’d still be losing sleep over it. In the right colors, the shoe can make you look like you actually are from Europe. Stay away from the awful new retros and go with the original runner colors or anything metallic:

*There was a guy on campus way back who’d always rock the 2000 gold/silver Euro versions of these, with skintight stonewash 501s and a sleeveless Black Album era Metallica shirt. More than one co-ed was heard to have been crushing on him in the library. Despite the shoes he still looked like a drifter. Whatever.

Just surfing around…

VERY weird. Didn’t these used to go for over a G? This thing was a hyperstrike, 24 pairs. Now look at them. Still a good look for Ramones sexpunks in bands though. nh

post Nike Air Burst Storm

December 6th, 2007

Filed under: Kind of wack, Late 90s, True Heat Unit, Nike — sreiss @ 7:02 pm

One of the illest colorways for about a minute. Doesn’t look especially hot anymore but damn was this fly back in the day. I never copped these but i had a pair of Air Max Storms that I wore the hell out of them. Definitely one of the better packs Nike has made in the last ten years. The quality was pretty fly for all of them, stitched right, not much mesh, dark midsoles, everything. They looked like they could weather a storm. Or even a storm II. Hard to say if they could though. The Huaraches were the least visible of the three and consequently the best ones IMO. They were the mids, not the fab five, but close enough and with a hole in the ankle, like a true Huarache. Huarache Machi!

Colors were a deep sultry brown with the satin in lakers colors. Whatup kobe, I see you. Maybe I even love you. Scoring 25 in the game, only four ahead of the rad man and less than half of AI’s. But who won? Everyone talks about how Kobe is playing on reserve and doesnt care and wants to be traded. I’ll tell you this, if this was the 1940s and I were Ted Williams (RIP), I’d want Kobe over John Glenn riding that plane. He could pick the antlers off a mosquito in motion. If this was Panama or The Boer War I’d want Kobe to be my general (no homo). If he was the captain of a boat I’d take the orders, big no homo.

Everyone hates kobe, but for the life of me i don’t know why. Is it because he knows what hard work is, and he knows why he’s the best? Is it because you sleep in on your day off, and he gets up at 5 am and takes a helicopter to Staples Center to beat traffic? Is it because you’re a pussy and cant wear crazy eights. Or when he sonned the hell out of Raja Bell. Most confident guy. I guess you can read Freedarko or ESPN for more ruminations, but in 2007 the Lakers are more the Clippers and Kobe gets a lifetime pass from me and hopefully all my friends

Anyways… not too into the neon or the overwrought speckling here. Most of the weird Nikes come out lately have been descended from this pack in one way or another. No black or white, lots of unusual colors, dark and deep, all having nothing to do with each other. This started a little before those smurf dunks or whatever the hell they were. The beginning of hypebeast, what was it? Like some dunks wrapped in carpet that looked like the good side of a bulk barn? Awful. If i had these shoes I’d spraypaint them shades of grey like in Roger Rabbit. I sold the hell out of my Storms to some loser in Germany. T Raumschierre I think.

Whatup jay bil, the only person who can pull these off, unless you click that link

*shoutout to aj, for letting me do ted williams RIP suicide missions in kenmore my 2nd day with sweet ink, on a beautiful august night in 2003. one

December 4th, 2007

Filed under: Spankin new, True Heat Unit, Nike — sreiss @ 7:14 pm

the pastels in this are

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
The stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee;
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company;
I gazed — and gazed — but little thought
What wealth to me the show had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
